After we left the ossuary the same taxi driver took us to St Barbara Cathedral. Can you IMAGINE getting out of the taxi and seeing this???? I was so distracted by the beautiful that I left my hat in the taxi! BUMMER!!!!!!!!!! But, not even 5 minutes later he brought some more people to the cathedral so I got it back. If you've known me for awhile you know that I seem to leave something whenever I go on vacation.
I must have just stared (through my view finder) at the magnificence of it for a good 15 minutes before I even made the move to go in.
I thought the snow on the trees was so beautiful
It amazes me about the detail that is on every inch of the stone.
*sigh* Just sooo beautiful! None of the pictures do justice on just how beautiful it was. I could have stayed there for hours just looking at every detail. Ryan and John went through fairly quickly and I just don't know how people do that. Everywhere you look there is a small detail just hidden away. Ryan and John left and went to a pub and David was the good husband and sat and waited for me. I felt guilty so I moved it along. The days were so short and I knew there was so much more to see.
Painted ceilings
These are just some of the details that were in the different chapels.
Amazing pipe organ!!!! I would have given anything to hear someone play it!
One of the naves
Can you imagine confessing in something like this! I would never make it in because I would be admiring the beauty of it.
The cathedral was built from the wealth that was obtained from mining silver.
The most gorgeous painted glass windows!

The view from the cathedral
And David wanted a picture of this. I think it's a brand of cars we don't have in the US.

The car is a Romanian car.. Definitely not a car we'd ever see over here!
