Some Pure Romance!

I spent the evening at Heidi's house for a Pure Romance party and it was just a fun time with the girls just having a good time.  We stayed up way too late though!

All Greek!

I have a small addiction to Greek food right now.  I honestly can't help it and I want to eat it at least once a week!  David had to work late so I was able to talk mom into going to eat Greek food with me in the Marietta Square.  Reese was excited because we got to sit on pillows on the floor and she got to see the belly dancer.

A wise girl once said...

I didn't get to experience this first hand but thoroughly enjoyed it when David told me about it. David was putting her into the bed for the night and was giving her hugs and kisses and said "Reese, I don't want you to grow up. I want you to be little forever!" She responds with "Daddy, things change. That's the way the world works. Trust in me daddy and trust in God." Very profound for a little girl!

Then this morning he dropped her off to school and she was telling her doll Ivy goodbye. She gave her a kiss and said "I'll miss you sweetheart."

She's such a cutie!

Project 365 20-24

20/365 - Once again I couldn't find anything to take a picture of so I took a picture of Reese's fall art work that is hanging on the pantry door.

23/365 - One of Reese's chores each day is to make sure the cats are fed at night. She filled their bowls up so much that it was all over the floor! She said "I want Rammie and Cullie to grow big and strong!"

A Letter Home

Ever since we've been back from our trip Reese has been a handful. I think that she is punishing us for leaving her so long. It has now started to trickle over to school and we got a letter home from Ms Wilder. :-( I hope this marks the end of her naughty phase!

Babies

Reese really wanted to go somewhere after school. She just kept begging and coming up with all kinds of suggestions, she even said the mall! I finally agreed and told her we would go to Chick-fil-a. So I ran home to grab a book to read while she played. When we were walking in she went on and on about babies. She said "Mommy, a long time ago" (she actually means the future) "when you have a baby, I'm going to be a great big sister. The baby will be in your tummy just like I was, right mommy?" I nod. "It's REALLY yucky in there, right mommy?" I just started laughing and agree with her. She tells me she has to go to the potty (I love that I don't have to ask her all the time!) and she just continues the conversation. "Mommy, see what a really good listener I am? I will be a GREAT big sister. See me listening mommy???" I think my mom must have been building up the idea of a baby to her.

After she ate she went and played in the playground. This is the same playground where she couldn't even reach to climb up. She'd get so mad and I would have to put her up as much as a could. Now, I get to settle down with a book while she plays to her heart's content! After such a easy trip to CFA I'm not sure if I WANT to start over with a brand new baby!

New Year's Lunch

This year we had our annual New Year's lunch 2 weeks after New Year's and had it at Fran and Allan's.  This year we had a lot of people!  Fran had a nice new stove for us to cook on.  The kids all had a blast and ran laps around the house with the dogs running behind them.  I can't even begin to tell you how loud it was!  Just imagine 4 children and 2 dogs....

The menu was hog jowls, black eyed peas, collards, mash potatoes, cream corn, and corn bread.  OMG it was so good!  We even had Heidi the Midwestern eat a little bite of the hog jowls.

After lunch the kiddos settled down and watched a movie and then played with some Play-Doh.  Allan got a chance to hold baby Kaylynn.  He held her longer than I did!

It was all kind of chaotic but I actually had an awesome time.  Normally loud noises put me over the edge but I think a fun time was had by all!  Until next year!

Imagine It!

I met a couple of sorority sisters at Imagine It! Children's Museum and Reese had a great time as usual.  The first thing she did was run to the balls.  We haven't been in about a year and it's really interesting to see how she interacts with things each year.  We've been taking her since she is a baby!

Next we had to do a little grocery shopping and I got to be the cashier.  For her and some other kids, lucky me!  I kept looking around for the other kids' parents.  They really shouldn't miss out on the fun too!

After we left the museum we went to Willy's to have lunch.  She did great eating her lunch and had a little bit left over and wanted to save it.  I wrapped it in the foil and let her clear off the table like she loves to do.  Before I could stop her she accidently threw the rest of her quesadilla away.  The poor thing got so upset and just cried and cried.  Even the people around her were trying to make her feel better.  Once I got her calmed down we got in the car and left.  I could tell she was so tired.

Before we even made it home she was conked out!

This was one of the rare days were she actually took a nap!  When I was putting her down that night she started crying about her quesadilla.  The poor thing really missed it!  It was a great day!
