Happy Birthday Rowie and Happy Halloween!!!!

Today was a crazy busy day.  I worked from home so that I could be home earlier enough to celebrate Rowie's birthday and take Reese ToT.  We went out to dinner to celebrate Rowie's birthday and they gave her a cake and sang to her, she loved it!  I'm glad that they did that because our tradition of having cupcakes on our birthdays didn't happen with Rowie because we were so busy that night getting dressed and going ToT.  I know she didn't miss it this year but I've got to organize it better for years to come.  We are always going to have this issue so I've got to get it figured out!

Reese as a super hero.....again!

I tried to get a picture of Reese and Rowan together but Rowan wasn't having it.  All she wanted to do was crawl around!

David took Reese out while I stayed back with Ro and handed out candy.  I have fun decorating for Halloween every year and we had this big spider web with spiders hanging down from the ceiling of the porch.  I loved hearing the moms' talking to their kids before they ring the bell.  "Come on sweetie, they aren't real!"  And the older kids would say "This is the best house ever!"  That made all the work of hanging that damn spider web worth it!  I think David and I spent over an hour on that thing.  Too bad I didn't take a picture of it!!!

Pumpkin Olympics

The first grade at Reese's school has their annual Pumpkin Olympics so I headed over to Reese's school to watch it.  The kids were so excited by all of the parents that showed up to watch it.  It's great to see Reese's face light up when I visit her at school.  So cute!

Reese's school heading to the parking lot.  Each class has a different color shirt and her's is bright green.

The birthday fun continues!!!

Christie and Colleen were in town for another day so Colleen and I took the kiddos to the zoo for Boo at the Zoo.  I unfortunately forgot my camera so I got a couple with my phone.  The first is the video of Avery and Reese dancing up a storm in the play tent they had set up.  It was LOUD!

Reese wanted a picture with the Cat in the Hat and Colleen.  Not me her sweet mother, Colleen! :)

After we got home that night Rowie finally opened up her presents before bedtime.

Rowan's 1st Birthday Party

I had a lot of fun planning Rowie's 1st birthday party.  I have ALWAYS wanted to throw a Halloween themed party and since Rowie was born on Halloween I finally got my chance!  I didn't put all of the pictures on here but you can click on any of them to get to the entire album on Flickr.
I was nervous all week because the temperature and Saturday ended up being cool and extremely windy.  I've got my fingers crossed that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE we'll be in a new house next year.  *Sigh* That probably won't happen so I'll have to figure out what to do next year because the weather in October is hit or miss.  The kids seemed to be fine because they were crazy and ran all around.  My friend Misty took the majority of these pictures and I can't thank her enough!

My sister-in-law Colleen helped me carve the #1 pumpkin.  I broke the blade on my pumpkin knife and I didn't trust myself with a knife, so I let the surgeon handle it!  :)

I found this idea on Pinterest.  I thought it was fun for the kids to have something different.  Too bad they never stopped long enough to eat!

I found the spider plates at Target and figured I could use them next year too.  I'm hoping I've got one more year that I can choose the theme of the party before Rowan starts to take interest.

Right before the party this tree blew down and the pot broke.  Mom got the hot glue gun and did a quick fix.  I got the treat buckets and Pottery Barn Kids.

Mozerella eyeballs.  The top right were Rosemary Witches Fingers and Mens Toes.  I didn't get a picture of that one but I thought they turned out cute.  It was my first time actually working with yeast and dough.

Rowie didn't really want to grab her cake and eat it.  She wanted to talk to the spider that was on her cake.  She fed me a piece before she decided that it was OK to consume.

She loved that spider!
