Pre-K Graduation

I can't believe that the time has come for my baby to graduate from Pre-K!!!!  I stopped by her room before the ceremony to take a quick glance at the ciaos.  But, as usual the teachers had the kids all lined up and pretty much in line.  I don't know how they do it!

The entire school performed a couple of musical numbers and did all of the pledges to the flag.  It was a nice surprise to hear my little girl's voice over the microphone saying "Salute and pledge to the Christian flag".

It was then time for the Pre-K classes to do their own special number.  Reese was nervous at first but she ended up doing a great job!

Love her!

They were all lined up waiting for their name to be called.  She had a sad face because she wanted to sit with us.

So excited for that diploma.  Little does she know that she's got a minimum of 17 years to go!

We all went out for ice cream after the ceremony.  I can't believe I've got a kindergartner!

Soccer!

We decided to give soccer a try this spring to see if Reese had improved any.  I do have to say that she did improve she just isn't a natural. :-)  She took more interest in playing this year but most of the kids got bored after about 15 minutes.  Reese would then complain of being tired and would try and play in the dirt.  We'll see if we'll give it a try this fall.  She's getting old enough where she should be able to tell us if she wants to continue.

These were taken during one of her games.  She stopped running the field so they let her play goalie.  Normally there isn't a goalie, LOL

Her favorite part was running through the tunnel at the end of the game!

They had a party at the end of the season and they each got a certificate and a trophy.

I think we're going to give swim lessons and gymnastics another try.  We shall see!  We try and keep her in one activity at a time but honestly she is like me and would rather stay home!

Mother's Day Tea

Reese's school had a Mother's Day Tea and let all the kids dress up instead of their usual uniform.

Reese was super excited when it was her turn to take me to my seat.

She didn't like it when she had to go back with her classmates instead of sitting with me.  She tried so hard to hold it together but she finally broke down and cried.  Her teacher had to explain to her that she would get to sit with me after they did their song.

It was a very special day and I had to try and not cry.  She has grown up so much over the course of the year.  Graduation is around the corner!

C&C Baby Shower

Christie & Colleen are expecting a baby in July so Sharon (Christie's high school friend), Ryan, and I threw them a Dr Seuss themed baby shower.  Natasha was sweet and helped us set up.

I squeezed WAY too many key limes to make these cupcakes

I had a hard time thinking of food to go with One Fish, Two Fish.  I finally settled on Swedish Fish and sushi.

It was fun planning the shower and I know that Christie had a great time catching up with old friends.  It was like a high school reunion!  Now I can't wait for my nephew to get here in July!
