Every year we head to Lenox Mall to see the Santa there. It's been neat to see how Reese has changed each visit. This year we got to add Rowie to the mix! David rode the Pink Pig with both girls first and then we went and saw Santa. Reese loves it and hopped in his lap and told him right away what she wanted. The girls are wearing coordinating outfits from Sweet Treats Kids.

Family Visit
David's mom, Mary, and Granny came down to meet little Rowan. Reese was SO excited to see her MeeMaw. Mary walked into the door and Reese went running to her screaming MEEMAW!!! I know Mary had to enjoy that! While they were here we went shopping and she watched Reese play in the indoor play area while David and I did some quick shopping. They also joined us for Kaylynn's 1st birthday party. Here a few pictures from their visit.

Kaylynn's 1st Birthday
We headed down to Newnan to celebrate Kaylynn's very first birthday! It seems like yesterday that I was taking her newborn pictures. Michelle made her cake and did a great job! Here are just a few pics from the party.
The smash cake
Kaylynn was all ready to go in her birthday outfit
She knew exactly what to do!
She even got it in her eyelashes :-)
And one picture of my girl! She was having fun playing with the boys running around the house.

1st Bath
Rowie's umbilical cord finally came off so it was time for her first bath! I was still having issues bending over so mom gave her the bath. Reese wanted a part in it so she hopped in the bath too! Everything started OK as you can see and then Rowie decided she didn't like it anymore!

Rowan's Portraits-9 days old
I unfortunately wasn't able to have Rowan's portraits done like I wanted and so I had to do them on my own. I kept putting them off because the thought of bending and taking pictures while recovering from a c-section for some reason didn't appeal to me :-). I only had two more days left with my mom so I knew that I had to get it done while she was there. So, I taped a blanket up on the wall and my mom arranged all of my squash, pumpkins, corn, etc that I had on my mantel for Thanksgiving. I sat down on a chair and my mom took direction from me on how I wanted her postioned, etc. I took a million but I'll try and only share a sample.
This one cracks me up!
Look at all of that hair on her body! :-)
Rowan did NOT like this, LOL. We tried warming up the pumpkin with a hair dryer but it still wasn't warm enough for her.
My absolute FAVORITE picture that I took. I just love her little hands!
The only picture with her eyes open

We're Home!!!!
Home sweet home!! I thought I would have to stay one more day due to having a c-section and that my BP was still high. But, I got the all clear! Rowie had to get a shot and they took her away to do that. You could hear her screaming and she was down the hall. I was so sad. The ride home was so different this time because we weren't as nervous. Heck I didn't even sit in the back with her! It is kind of hard though with two car seats. The first night home always seems to be the hardest. She wasn't up too much but it's hard for me to help out since I had surgery. I can't even lay down in the bed and get up by myself. I'll be so much happier when I'm well and moving.
My dad absolutely loves babies. There isn't anything more that he loves. Reese is always so busy and doesn't want to sit still and snuggle. A sweet baby isn't going anywhere!
Reese was super excited when she got home from school and Rowan was home. She wanted to help and be a part of everything. She's a great big sister!

Day 2 with Rowie
I was finally able to get up and move around as all of my IVs lines were removed (I had to keep the actual IVs in just in case). I was very sad to see my night nurse leave and a new, extremely young girl who was pregnant became my nurse. This girl couldn't help me out of bed the first time, I would have broken her in two! There were student nurses there and they actually helped me get up and walk for the first time. I have to say that was one of the worst parts of my experience. These poor girls were so nervous and just didn't know how to help me. I would have much preferred David to have helped me. David did help me do a lap around the hall to get my body back to normal. Now this may be TMI for some but when you have surgery you get all this gas built up in you. So, every time the nurses came to check on me I'd get the same question "Have you passed gas yet?" My answer was always "no" but my goodness how I wished my answer was different. This pain combined with post pregnancy contractions...ugh! When I was able to finally pass some gas it felt like a party. David actually said "That's great!!" That will be the LAST time he will EVER tell me good job for that, LOL.
It was pretty quiet for us during the day because everyone was at work. Mom brought Reese over later that night and helped me shower for the first time. Michelle came and visited as well and helped out for a few hours. She also brought little big sister/little sister dolls for the girls. So, thoughtful! She also brought me a bunch of newborn outfits for Rowie to wear while we were at the hospital. All of our 0-3 months stuff was huge on her! When we had Reese she wore the standard hospital outfit but I had other plans for Rowan. She was the best looking baby on the floor :-). All of the nurses called her "The Designer Baby".
Reese was more comfortable around me this time and she actually gave me a hug and a kiss. Her attention was still all on Rowie.
